Bang, bang
bang2 bang bang bang

Bang, bang, bang - media notions of war. - Nasheville, Ten. 2007

An interactive installation where the participator has to play, to discover the use of the body as a shooter. Using video tracking, shape recognition and digital media to create a performative experience about the mediated space around war. Working with a collection of culturally diverse participants, performing the sounds of "bang, bang, bang", a gun firing, I then digitally draw back into each video creating over 20 x 7 second animated mouths. Using New Media and "play" to create an intersection between the viewer and the monitors, I am interested in the disconnect facilitated by media, as an interpretation of violence and war, and the publics disassociated, disengaged response to war.
